Applications, claims, and duplicate profiles
Individual and organization applications are separate review records. A saved draft has not entered review; submission moves it into the staff workflow.
Existing records
Section titled “Existing records”When Homeward finds a plausible existing profile, the applicant may be offered a claim path instead of creating another record. A claim request does not immediately grant access: staff must confirm the relationship and resolve any identity conflict.
If no appropriate record exists, the application can create a new profile through the normal approval flow. Homeward does not silently attach an account to a merely similar profile.
Duplicates
Section titled “Duplicates”A profile-combination request is reviewed rather than executed automatically. Staff reconcile identity, access, relationships, and dependent records before combining anything. The goal is one durable profile, not deletion of whichever record looks older.
Application approval, profile access, organization membership, and donation enablement are distinct decisions; approval of one does not imply the others.
