Your organization dashboard
When you manage an organization on Homeward, the dashboard sidebar grows a group of pages for it: the profile, its campuses and staff, its programs, its updates, and the money and activity records behind them. This article is the map. It explains what the organization record is, what each page does, and who is allowed to do what.
What an organization record is
Section titled “What an organization record is”The organization record is the organization-wide identity on Homeward. It owns
the public name, mission, leadership, contact channels, legal registrations,
programs, updates, and public presentation. Everything on the public page at
homeward.org/orgs/<slug> comes from this one record.
Three related things are not part of the organization record, and keeping them separate matters:
- Its legal entities. A legal entity is a country-specific registration beneath the organization — a US 501(c)(3), for example. One organization can hold several registrations, each with its own verification, board, and financial history. See Legal entities, verification, and financials.
- Its staff roster. The people listed on the public staff page are records on the organization, not members of it. Being on the roster does not give anyone dashboard access — that is a separate grant.
- Its access grants. Who can edit the organization is controlled by the access setting on each staff card, not by roster membership or by a person’s own profile settings.
Money lives here too, but it is documented under Giving, alongside the donor-side articles.
The Overview page
Section titled “The Overview page”Overview is the landing page for the organization. It pulls together the network feed, anything waiting on you, and the headline numbers.
- Latest from your network — updates from your connections and the people and organizations you support. Each card shows the profile name (linking to its public profile), the update type, the date, the title, and a Read link.
- Things to pay attention to — the right-hand rail. An attention card with
a Review link when updates need attention, then:
- Coming up — upcoming schedule items, linking to the campuses pages. Empty when nothing is scheduled: Nothing scheduled yet.
- Recent profile activity — the latest entries, linking to the activity log. Empty: No recent activity.
- At a glance — Subscribers (with “+N in 30 days” when that number is positive) and Published (the number of published updates).
The page header links to the related pages directly: updates, activity, schedule, and connections.
If you reach a page for an organization you do not manage, it tells you so: Couldn’t find that organization in your roster. That is expected — the sidebar only lists organizations you manage.

Most page headers also carry a View public profile link once the profile is published, and a Publish profile button for the owner of an unpublished organization.
Who can do what
Section titled “Who can do what”There are three access levels inside the organization, plus Homeward staff.
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| Owner | The organization’s principal manager. Only the owner sees the Publish profile button, and the owner owns each organization mailbox. |
| Org admin | A person granted dashboard access from the staff roster. They can edit the organization and manage payouts and credentials. |
| Staff | Someone on the public staff roster with No admin access. They appear on the staff page but cannot open the organization’s dashboard pages. |
| Homeward staff | Platform staff can open any organization’s pages to help you. They see a read-mostly view and do not change your record unless you ask them to. |
How to grant and remove the Org admin role is covered in Campuses, staff, people, and programs.
