Travel documents, health, and emergency contacts

Everything on the Personal Travel tab is private. None of it appears on your public profile, and no visitor can see any part of it. The page says so itself at the top: “This information only needs to be provided for individuals attending Homeward events.” If you are not attending a Homeward gathering, you can leave this tab empty.

Homeward asks for it before an event so the team can help you travel and respond if something goes wrong. See Your attendee guide for how it connects to a live event.

Every card on the tab works the same way: an Add … button, rows with Edit and Remove (Remove confirms in a browser prompt: “Remove

Select Add document. Five types are available: Passport, Visa, Esta, Residence permit, and Travel consent.

  • Document type — passports hide the destination-country field; the other four types show it.
  • Document number — the number as printed on the document.
  • Issuing country — searchable.
  • Destination country — only for non-passport documents.
  • Issue date and Expiration date.
  • Notes — “Optional — anything Homeward staff should know”.

Each row shows the number, the country flag, “Expires ”, and your notes.

Select Add document for anything that is not a travel document. Types: Adoption / custody, Insurance, and Other.

  • Title — optional on a new record, where it defaults to the filename; it becomes required when you edit the record later.
  • Reference number, Issue date, Expiration date, Notes.
  • Document file — a PDF, JPEG, PNG, or WebP file, 10 MB maximum.

Each record offers Download and Add file or Replace file alongside Edit and Remove.

Select Add item. Eight types, each with its own label: Allergy, Medication, Condition, Disability, Accessibility, Dietary restriction, Medical note, and Other.

  • Type — what kind of item this is.
  • Name — for example the medication or the allergen.
  • Severity — how serious it is.
  • Details — what the event team should understand about it.
  • Emergency action — what to do if it flares up.

This is the information a first-aider or a host needs at short notice, so favour specifics over general notes.

Select Add contact. Two kinds of contact:

  • Individual profile — pick a Homeward person. A linked profile is all this type requires, because their contact details are already on Homeward.
  • Someone else — a Full name is required, plus an Email or a Phone.

Both types also ask for your Relationship to them, and offer a Primary emergency contact toggle, which is on by default for the first contact you add.
