Staff administration
The Administration group in the dashboard sidebar is Homeward’s staff back office. It is separate from everything a donor, missionary, or organization admin sees, and every page in it requires a signed-in staff account. Non-staff who open a staff URL are sent back to their dashboard.
This section of the documentation is publicly readable. It describes how the tools work so staff can use them well; it deliberately leaves out anything that would help someone misuse them.
The three tiers
Section titled “The three tiers”Homeward has three staff tiers. Each one sees a different slice of the same sidebar, which is titled Administration and lists: Transactions, Payouts, Payment integrations, Organizations, People, Mailboxes, Site page review, Our Team roster, Update reception, and Abuse Reports.
- Staff — sees Transactions, Payouts, Organizations, and People. This is the day-to-day back office: inspecting money, finding organizations and people, and reviewing payouts.
- Admin — everything staff can reach, plus Payment integrations, profile merging, impersonation, role changes, and the destructive actions on the People page.
- Sysadmin — everything above, plus Mailboxes, Site page review, Our Team roster, Update reception, and Abuse Reports.
Opening a URL for a page above your tier gives you a redirect or a warning notice, never the page. Sharing an admin link with a colleague on a lower tier does not work — send them the task, not the URL.

Two legacy URLs still work: /dashboard/admin/profile-access and /dashboard/admin/identity-review both redirect to People. /dashboard/admin/payout-integrations redirects to one organization’s own payout connection page — payout credentials are per organization, not platform-wide.
Two names you will see
Section titled “Two names you will see”- Wise — the payout provider Homeward uses to send money to bank accounts outside the platform. When a page says “Live Wise” it will move real money; “Sandbox Wise” moves test money.
- TokenEx — the card vault. Card numbers are stored there, not in Homeward’s own database.
Money is counted in cents
Section titled “Money is counted in cents”Payouts and transactions display formatted dollars, but several staff inputs take raw numbers that are interpreted as cents — program and fundraiser goals in particular. A goal typed as 5000 is $50, not $5,000. See Transactions and payouts and Managing organizations.
