Homeward ships in stages, and this documentation describes what is live. This page is the honest list: what works today, what is marked as testing or still being built, and why a page you heard about may not appear for you.

How to read this

Everything else in these articles describes live behavior unless the page says otherwise. When a feature is not generally available yet, this page is where the caveat lives.

Available now

Public discovery — search, the directory, partner and cause pages, and the “From the field” newsfeed
Individual profiles, with visibility controls, connections, messaging, and endorsements
Organization profiles with legal entities, campuses, staff, people, programs, funds, updates, and receiving settings
Giving — one-time and scheduled gifts, donation history and receipts, the wallet, balances, and payouts
Events — Missions Week, Youth Camp and Vision Trips, with applications and private attendee guides

In testing, in development, on the roadmap

Homeward’s own offerings table uses three build-stage labels, and the same labels apply here:

Testing — experimental and available for testing. Structured funding waterfalls, optimized fund delivery, complex gift orchestration, business phone and call handling, and banking setup and coordination are in this state.
In Development — under construction, with most features expected to deploy within 3 to 18 months. The travel booking portal, salary and payroll administration, ministry placement opportunities, and financial reserves are here.
Roadmap — future growth with no committed timeline. Health and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement planning, and emergency repatriation.

Some offerings are also marked If Eligible: they depend on criteria that vary by model and situation rather than being open to everyone.

Pages that may be hidden

Homeward’s public editorial pages are published individually, and most of them start hidden. Only two are always public: the About page and the Statement of Faith. Everything else — Our Team, the gatherings pages, the For Missionaries pages, and the For Donors pages — is published when it is ready.

If you open one of those and see a “coming soon” panel, the page is staged before launch. It is deliberate, not a fault, and there is nothing wrong with your account.

The same applies to parts of the platform rather than whole pages: a person who has not enabled ministry tools will not see ministry pages, and an organization with no funds open will not see fund pages. Missing pages usually mean context or access, as A tour of your dashboard explains.

Known rough edges

A few things behave in ways that surprise people:

Opening /donate directly returns you to the homepage instead of a donation form. Give from a profile, a fund, or an organization page instead.
The Making a Match page for donors is a placeholder — it says a page is coming soon, and no matching tools exist behind it yet.
Missions Week and Youth Camp applications currently share one application form. If you apply to both, Homeward’s Guest Relations team sorts out which event you meant.
